UnGoogleable Research Paper Website Selection Reflection

Today in class, I learned new techniques to help me expand and make my research easier. To search for websites, I used the timeline and the wonder wheel to help me go deep into my findings.When I found a website related to my focus question, I made sure that it was an appropriate website that has useful and reliable information. I looked at the author and the date that the website was published.I knew some of the websites I found were unacceptable because because it was yahoo answers or written by students.I know the websites I selected are good because they are from professors, websites like .org, or even doctors.Tomorrow, I expect that Ms. Priester will tell me to continue on my research and look for more information.

Third Quarter Awards Review

On Friday during fifth period we had the Third Quarter Award Assembly to honor those who did well. I had received an award for 3.0-3.4 GPA. I think I worked hard in order to earn that. Becky had earned an award for 3.5-3.9 GPA. She did well herself. Amy and Jo-J0 earned and award for having a 4.0 and on top of that they received two hundred dollars from U-Rock and NA. Good job to you two. A couple of my housemates received awards for grades and awards from NA. Jo-Jo and I both received student of the quarter. When they first said Jo-Jo I really thought they were going to call Amy because she did really great third quarter. I was surprised when they called my name. I really want to give my props to Amy for keeping her grades up and showing the sophomores that they can receive a 4.0, but they just have to be willing to do their work. I also want to give my props to Tamarquis for switching things around and him receiving awards for most improved and doing well. I thought the award assembly was nice and the Pizza at the end was really cheesy and good at the same time.

UnGoogleable Research – What I Already Know

My focus question is “How does having abortions emotionally impact men?”. I already know that men who have a girlfriend or wife who have an abortion go to therapy because they don't know how to express or let out there emotions about it.I also know that majority of men don't agree to having abortions and after having an abortion without consent withdraw out of their relationship.Additionally, men do grieve following abortion, but they are more likely to deny their grief or internalize their feelings of loss rather than openly express them.By doing research, I hope to learn the many emotional effects that men have afetr their spout has and abortion and what kind of help that they recieve to help cure them.

“Switch” Play Audience Member Experience

Today I went on a sophomore field trip to a foster play. We all had to be in the front of the school office by 8:15 and we took a bus. When we went on the bus we were able to sit with who ever we wanted to sit with. I had sat next to Alex. We played a couple of games on the way there. Miss. Priester had made a little play of her own which was really funny. When we got there I had ran into old friends which were foster youth who had emancipated from the system. Once we had got into the theater they sat us down and from there the play started. The part when the actor pretended to be a little boy getting taken away from CPS made me cry. It brought flashbacks and old feelings that were still kept in me. I though that the play was real and very emotional. I thought that the characters had played their roles very well. The writer of the play wrote this play to show people what foster children had been through or what they are going through now. Two actors knew about the system and two of the actors knew nothing about the system until they were asked to play the roles of foster children. These stories were lives of real foster children who had been through all that emotional destruction. It was very touching in my opinion. After the play, we left and we had pizza. I did not have anything to eat because It was my choice, but I was able to tell that it was good because my classmates went back for more or they were just hungry. I enjoyed the trip. I am glad that I chose to go instead of refusing like I was planning to do, but I had a great time. Then we went back on the bus and headed back to school. The bus ride back was fun too. I know that everyone had a good time, they probably thought it was better than being at SPA and going to class.

UnGoogleable Research Paper – Website Evaluation Tips

When I asked Dakota, "How can you tell if a website is a good resource for writing a research paper?", he said," it should give you enough information and also the website should be able to go beyond what you are expecting for but not to much." Derick had said, " If I am writing a research paper i need to feel that it has a lot of creditability. So I want one that has a lot of articles that have been published by a doctor or a university or someone who I think could be an expert on." My house parent Jessica said," that the website should have decent information and should not be hard to find answers that you need. The website should have good information that has evidence to back up it's statement."
