"Two Kinds" Mother/ Daughter
There are two kinds of people, either they are one who follows or the one who is not a follower. In the story Two Kinds Jing Mie was a follower at one point, but then said to herself that I am not someone who will be bossed and told to be something that I do not want to be. Jing Mie's mother wanted her to become a prodigy that was going to be taken by music. Her mother hear a little girl playing the drums on T.V., she wanted Jing Mie to learn how to play the piano. Her mother was a house keeper that cleaned houses. So she got her into piano lessons with a old guy by the name of Mr. Chong. Mr. Chong was a retired piano teacher. He retired because he was deaf. Her mother payed by cleaning there house. She had lessons every day because her mother wanted her to perform in front of a crowd. The reason why she wanted her to become something was because in China you are not allowed to be known as someone, But in America you are able to be someone. She wanted the best for her daughter. The thing is that Jing Mie didn't think of it that way. She just thought that her mother wanted her be something that she didn't want to be. That brought up past arguments and fighting between one another. It was a horrible thing that Jing Mie said to her mother. After that her mother didn't bother with her. Didn't tell her anything. Later in life she thought to her self that she was a disappointment to her mother. Her mother did a lot for her. Working the the misery of the lost of two babies back in China. To me I think that Jing Mie's mother is correct. She just wanted the best for her daughter.
