What I learned in English 10 Second Quarter

What I learned in English ten second quarter was the different types of themes, irony, and what is the characters and readers points of view. Prietser had showed me allot about how I can join in on an online conversation and how I can create a poll. I had also learned that I can join in on a contest that can benefit the school or any school in the state. She showed us this cool website that can help us create an online persuasive project. It was simple and easy, you can try if you want to. I have learned new vocabulary almost every day and have learned to explain ambiguity in text. n blogger I can post comments and create a project that celebrates a holiday online. Also on blogger I can write about anything even my days on the campus I live on. On Google docs I was able to learn about creating my own graphic organizer and publishing it on the web. Another thing on blogger you can create new pages and embed new projects that are shown around the world. It is safe and harmless if you learn to use it correctly. I also can crate a poll that I can have others rate my writing. I also learned how to make a quiz for friends and family. Those quizzes are actually fun and can be for any subject. I also have a delicious account and can make new bookmarks about any vocabulary or events that are happening.

Shop 'til You Drop Extra Credit

Shop till you drop was fun because we got to decorate cookies. They also gave stockings with candy and a ten dollar gift certificate to star buck. Then we got this small bag and inside was another box with an iPod Nano. Everyone was so excited. We got to walk around take pictures and get clothes. Toward the end we had a raffle. They gave out gift baskets and electronics. The biggest prize of them all was the x-box. After that we all went home and everyone left with something in there hand. No one left empty handed. Some left with more because they won the raffle.

"Lamb to the Slaughter" - I'm the Detective

If I was a detective investigating the murder of Patrick Maloney in “Lamb to the Slaughter” by Roald Dahl, I would have made sure that the house closed. Then I would check the time of death and how long the turkey had been cooking. I think that if I were to check the temp and time of death I would find out who the murder was. I would also make sure that every thing was finger printed and check her alibi. I would have been a hard working detective. I also think that I would be the kind of detective that won't stop until I find out who the killer is.

"Lamb to the Slaughter" Mary's Giggling

At the end of "Lamb to the Slaughter" by Roald Dahl, Mary Maloney begins giggling because she got away with the murder of her husband. She also was eating with the weapon with all the sheriffs and when the detective said "The weapon must be here on the premises and it is probably underneath our noses for that fact." The detective began to finish his food. After the police leave the house I predict that Mary will be taking a breath and say to herself that it was a close one. Then she would begin to notice that she is alone. Then she will cry into tears because her husband is dead, she is alone, and is going to live with the guilt.

The Cold Equations’ – Marilyn’s Point of View

In Marilyn's point of view was that she was just a girl who wanted to see her brother that was on another ship. Her brother was going to be gone for an extra two years. She just danced her way on and when a cleaning lady came on she hid quickly. Then the shuttle left and she was still on it. When she heard a guy calling her out because his job was to kill any trespassers. She was not afraid. When she heard that every trespasser that was in the ship had to die. She was afraid and confused. She did not understand why. She just wanted to see her brother. Then she wrote a letter to her mother and father. Then she wrote a letter to brother. Then she knew what had to be done and she died at the end. She was careless in the beginning and then afraid in the middle. Then at the end she was brave and knew what she had to do.

Situational Irony in My Life

About 10 months ago I interviewed to come to San Pascual Academy.Just 9 months ago I moved in to girls 2. Before I moved in I promised myself that I would not date anyone and will stay away from drama. That promise broke when I dated a guy who once lived in boys 7. Along with dating him came drama. I was so stressed out and wanted to leave SPA
because this was not what I came here for. Man, was I getting sick of the same thing going on every day. Everyone talking behind everyone's back. Even the closest people who called each other best friends talked about each other. I thought that dating a guy would not be so dramatic, but those around me thought that it should be huge. Lies were told, rumors spread around campus. I finally broke up with him and my life was calm and drama free. Then I dated him again and along came more drama and troubles. I thought this place was going to be great but instead it became my worst nightmare. Then I realized that this place only gets better when you make it better. You can't have a good day unless you tell yourself that you will have a good day.
