Dream House Paragraph with Imagery

My dream house would be and old cottage that would feel warm and cozy. It would be surrounded by acres of land and and a stable with horses. I would be able to see the lake in front of me. I can taste the cookies that just came out of the oven. The items that are in the house would feel soft, smooth, and would be comfy. I can smell the warm breeze and the the flowers that had just bloomed in front of the house. I can hear the horses NEH and the dogs barking. I can also hear the birds chirping and the fish that are in the pond splashing around. In order for me to have my dream house I would have to get out of the system and work hard for it.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection

My goal for this quarter is to get a 3.5 or higher. In order for me to achieve my goal I have to make sure that I turn in all my homework on time and make sure that I participate in class. Things that I am doing well is that I am doing all my homework whether it is late or on time. I always turn in my homework. I am also participating more in class and making sure that everything that is assigned is done and turned in. Things that I could do differently is making sure that I pay attention in class and make sure that I ask questions when I need help. At the end of the quarter I expect to feel proud of myself and telling myself "Good Job!"

Poetry Experience Paragraph

As a person who loves to write poetry, I think that learning more about it is a great deal of lessons. When I read others I can see how it touches in with their emotions. Poetry is also a way to describe your life style and how it is. In my opinion I think that poetry is a good way to let out any loose feelings that you have. In fact I have studied poetry in the past. I was so into it that reading others carefully it touched me. Some poems that I read are happy, confused, angry, and even sad. Some of those I cry while reading whether they are sad or happy they still bring tears to my eyes. I love to write poetry that is the only way I can physically express myself to people. I know that words don’t mean much being write on paper but to me it does. I hope to learn everything there is to know about poetry even though I know a lot but it is also good learn something new.

Symbolism and Allegory Unit Reflection

-What did you study over the past few weeks?
The last few weeks I learned about symbols and the different meanings that they have. I also learned about allegory which is stories in which characters and places stand for something beyond themselves, usually virtues and vices. The different things that the class did for me to know what symbolism was the house symbol, what symbol represents you and a symbol that represents the character. For allegory we worked on making paragraphs about the characters and we also had assignments that were about allegory that is posted on our blogger. We also had made graphic organizers. My favorite symbolism and allegory assignment is a symbol that represents me and the allegory assignment about a character that we picked. Studying all this is had changed the way I think about the characters way and the tone that they speak. I also look deeply on the characters role.

“Animal Farm” Character’s Symbolic Meaning Paragraph

In the story “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, the character Boxer represents a hard worker. For example he always did what he was told so that made him loyal when he would do all the laboring and he would come home exhausted that was what made him a hard worker. In addition Boxer was a good person with good characteristics. This shows that he was the type of person that new what was right or wrong and new not to get in to trouble. People who are like Boxer would be a type of person that was an over achiever and did only what was right.

Animal Farm to the Real World

In the story Animal Farm by George Orwell, the puppies were brain washed to be guard dogs and chase those who were traders away and has allegorical meaning. This has allegorical meaning because in other countries young boys are kidnapped or taken away to be apart of the military. They are trained with guns and learned to not care but to obey there leader who had trained them. In the story the puppies were taken after birth and Napoleon trained them to be vicious and to guard him. They were also trained to obey Napoleon and not any one else including there mother. They were also trained to scare off those who disagreed or was a trader. In real life this is called military or dictatorship. I the stories matter it was a hunn of puppies who were raised by someone who wanted power and control instead of there mother who wanted them to be sweet and Innocent.

“Animal Farm” Revolution at SPA

So it was a nice Friday at SPA and Julie and Yemeni were hanging out because Yemeni had an injured ankle. Yemeni only trusted Julie to push her in the wheel chair because she did the same for her. So then Yemeni’s friend Betsy had began to be jealous because they thought that they were close like that. So Betsy was getting so jealous that she had to be in a bad attitude and have a negative vibe. So then the next day Yemeni wanted to talk to Betsy but she was so into having a attitude with her that she just looked at her, gave her a dirty look and said, “NO” in a nasty tone. Then that night Yemeni told Betsy that she was tired of the negativity and the ugly notes that she ended a friendship because Yemeni did not need some one like that. So Julie and Yemeni just hung out and did not bother with any one. Then it became a nasty and ugly argument then into a fight. Then the day after the fights and the arguments with students were increasing and it was not even a full moon. So the next day Julie was put to go some where for a bit and no one knows for how long. When Yemeni found out she was furious and mad because she thought that Betsy deserved to go as well because she was less innocent then Julie. Then the campus went crazy because the staff were unfair and scared the staff away and even some students. The campuses went ballistic and were not in shape after the staffs were gone. The campus did not know how to provide for them selves and there were arguments every day. Oh boy, this campus looks like a dump, with no staff to keep order these students made it look dirty and not sanitized. The student’s rooms were dirty and they were dirty them selves. Then at the end the students begged for staff to come back and ask for help because most of them were not ready to be alone. Then the staff came back and the students were put back on track.

San Pasqual Academy Dragons Symbolism

The mascot of San Pasqual Academy is the Dragons. The Dragon symbolizes bravery and strength but at the same time it symbolizes hard work. Well at least it does to me. What I noticed is what I go by. This campus has a lot of hard heads and athletic students. Some of them are hard working and some do slack until the last minute to pick up there act. To me the dragon is a great symbol to represent SPA.To be a SPA Dragon is a great privilege and I do work hard to achieve things I want done. As a SPA student to be a Dragon is to do well and work hard. Well that is what i've been told at least.

“Through the Tunnel” Foster Youth Initiation

Since I was born I have been in the system and it has been difficult at times. When I was born I was born I was taken away from my parents due to abuse and neglect, but I had went straight into a foster home. For some students they go into a group home which is like what we are in but more strict. I was in the system for 15 years, but some students may have been in longer than me or shorter than me. After that government makes sure that we go to school to get our high school diploma and not drop out and them waste money. For some students they think that there path is to graduate and others say that they are better out in the streets with friends. That is because they think that they are to cool for school or just don't have the same support. When a student turn 15 or 16 they have the chance to sign up for ILS which is Independent Living Skills. That helps the foster youth to learn independence and the way of life. The county wants us to do good but they somewhat give us a hard time because they want us to do the right choices. After that when a child turns 18 they have the choice to emancipate or stay in the system until they are 22. If they choose to emancipate themselves they can get into welfare which is money to help them in life. If a foster youth chooses to stay until 22 hey can have the chance to go to college or get there high school diploma. After that your on your own and you live you life the way you chose to live it. It is all up to you, whether you want to live it poor or be in school and beginning your own path to success.

“Through the Tunnel” Analysis Paragraph

In my opinion I do. I find it convinced because he saw it and wanted to know where it would lead to, and how far will it take him. To him his goal was to try to see how long he can hold his breath. Then he figured that he could not hold it for long so he had to try to train his lungs to hold till he got to the other end. When his nose began to bleed that was a sign of hard work and dedication in his own goal. When it was time for him to try even though at first he wanted to wait till next year he new that he could do it. When he entered the tunnel he saw the clear green see and saw fish. When he was about half way his head began to hurt and he was beginning to panic but he still went on. When he saw the light ahead he try to remember how to kick his feet to make him go faster. Then when he was close he felt like he was going to die so he hurried up to get to the light and out of the water. When he got out he looked like a fish coming and begging for air. When he came out he saw nothing but red and began to think that his eyes had popped out and exploded. Then he took off his goggles and saw the blood go into the water. It was his nose that filled the goggles with blood. Then he splashed water in his face and was happy that he went to through the tunnel and did not wait. When he finally went though the tunnel and made it without dieing I was glad because he had worked so hard and did what he wanted to do and figure out, but yes I do find it convincing.

“Through the Tunnel” Prove Yourself Paragraph

A time that I had to prove my point was when I was at SPA and wanted to play football. The guys thought it was funny and thought that I would not make it through hell week. I was getting frustrated and I knew then that I had to work twice as hard to show them that a girl like me is able to play on a high school football team. It was difficult at first, but then I noticed that guys were not showing up to hell week and giving up in the middle of it. I had to show then through out the season that I can tackle and I can be aggressive at the same time. I proved it at the Army Navy game, when I tackled three large guys and was not afraid. To me I felt good because I proved to them that a girl too can play a sport such as this. I also felt good because I got along at the end of the season. I was glad that they excepted me as apart of the team.

House Symbols

The eagle symbolizes our house which is Girls 3. To most people, this item is just a animal that flies in the sky and looks nice. To us, it represents bravery, strength, honesty, and hard working because it is said to the Indian people that the eagle watches out for everything. Our house is the eagle because our house has most of the characteristics. Even when we do not we try to be fair of what we are. To be one is to be many it is the way of the Indians. To be many and not one. To have a symbol that represents them.

One of my major goals that I accomplished in 2010 was passing Mrs. Priester's class. I also stayed off two hour because I managed to keep my grades at B's. • do all my homework assignments

I am going to do anything to keep this goal till the end of the year.

Winter Break Experience

During winter break I took a plane to Guaca to celebrate my niece’s third birthday. In Guaca a girls third birthday is like her quince. You spend a lot of money. As for my family it took us years to save up that kind of money. Once my sister and I got there we had to buy things for the piƱata and food supply for they can eat with. We also had to set up the party before people got there. In Guaca as a sacrifice we go out and buy a goat. What we do to the goat is we pray the kill as a sacrifice to her. It is something major and has to be done or else she won’t grow up to become something honorable. Another tradition is that we pray to a baby Jesus that has a prayer to protect our family. I think learning this can be important in some kind of way. I was tired by the end of the day.

The next day we took all day setting everything up and cooking some food for our guests. After preparing everything we got ready. My niece was put into a white dress with a small crown on her head. Everyone was waiting to see Audrina. Once everyone came they all danced and was enjoying there time at the party. I was glade that there was no fighting or arguing between family and friends. Then it was time for the sacrifice of the goat. It was almost sunset. People gathered around a prayed on the goat. After the prayer my uncles had killed the goat the skinned it. It was horrible, I was only able to watch the beginning of it then I couldn't’t watch any more. Then they tied to a stick and it cooked over a fire pit, it took hours to cook. I am surprised how they were able to eat it after watching it get killed, skinned, then cooked right in front of them. I could not do that.

I was glad that everyone was having a good time. It was the first time I was happy at a family party since my father past away. It was also the first time I had seen my mother have a good time and not having marriage problems. It was nice to see a smile on everyone’s face especially my sister. My niece was tired and exhausted but I could tell that she had fun. The next day we came back home and on the plane I reviewed all the pictures I took with my camera. When we got back to the house we went straight to sleep. It was one of my best winter breaks I had ever had since I have been in school. It was also nice to meet all my family members even my sister’s husband’s family, they were nice. I hope it happens again soon, but for someone else. Winter break was awesome.
