"Ex- Basketball Player " Paragraph

Athletics are important to me because it is a way to keep me active and out of trouble. Sports is a stress relief for me. When I'm mad that's when I let it out. I do think prepares young people in life should participate in sports because it is a way to keep them healthy and out of trouble. Well most of the times they are out of trouble. An help also it can help them improve in school. In order to play a sport at any school you have to be able to maintain a 2.0-3.0, it depends on what sport you chose to play. Another example why it is sports are important for me is because I can get to know new people that I don't know. Maybe even talk to those you don't really talk to. As a result athletics's is important to young people's life because it can teach the communication skills.

Persuading You to Read a Blog

I think that students should comment on freshmen blogs posts because then you can learn something new from your class mates. You can even get to know their perspective on things. Even when you may disagree on what they write. Even though they are underclass men does not mean that you should not give them your opinions. I think that if we were to comment on their blog posts they can learn from what we say that needed to be fixed. Maybe they can also get a boost of encouragement from what we write to them. It can be good and helpful at the same time.

What does it mean to be a Sophomore

The meaning of being a sophomore is to be in tenth grade. It also means that you have a lot to learn because you are not graduated and or an adult. It also means that you need to be in school to get good grades. The meaning of a sophomore is an underclass man. A sophomore is a student in school. The meaning of being a sophomore is also showing that you are more mature and not needing to act like your still in middle school or elementary.

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and it went great. I know, I did not have a Valentine but still had a great day. The only problem was that I had to work after school. It was not bad I got to learn how to make smoothies and frappes. I thought that it would be a bad day for me at work. It turned out to be fun. After work I ate dinner and then did a whole hour of doing homework. After that I went to boxing and met the new instructors. I thought that they were pretty good with us. I thought that since our old instructor had left that boxing was going to be boring. Instead I had a good time. I give a round of applause. Good job guys! Then there is today, which went pretty good as well. I went to work out this morning in the gym. At the end of the work out I felt wide awake. Then I went home took a shower and then went up to the cafe. The cafe had pancakes and they tasted better then ever. Well at least I thought so. Then came school which was good I was not as annoyed or frustrated. It was quiet and calm. I am waiting for after school because I am going for a jog. Sounds fun to me. So today I was told something very nice and I want to thank that person. That person told me "You look very nice today." Even though I look like I just got up from bed. Funny right.

"Grape Sherbet" Blog post 2011

A way I can relate to this poem is because when my father past away he told me something that was important. When he first told me I did not understand he just looked at me in a smile. In the poem the recipe's a secret and he fights a smile. Or when the poet writes, "I've been trying to remember the taste, but it doesn't exist. Now I see why you bothered father. The reason why I relate to this poem is because my father did the same thing to me but in a different case. I did not understand until month's later. Some of the phases that help me imagine this poem are 'memorial", "Lavender taste", "diabetic grandmother stares from the porch", and "we thought no one was lying there under our feet, we thought it was a joke." A imagery that helps the reader is the masterpiece because it has a nice detail explaining what it looks like.

Memorable Valentine's Day

My favorite memory of valentines day was when I was in elementary school and my class was doing this party. My foster mom took me to the store to buy little kids valentine cards. I also got chocolate boxes for my teachers and flowers for my female teachers. Also there was this boy I had a crush on and he had gotten me teddy bear. I was blushing because people around me were say ooohhhh and parents and teachers were saying how cute. I thought it was embarrassing but fun at the same time. In class we decorated cupcakes and cookies. Elementary school was so cool. There were small crushes and flirting. I also got to make paper hearts and colored pictures. I liked it very much I wish I was back where people thought it was cute and not nasty. The boy who I had a crush on we are still friends. I think of him as a sweet person. When I see him I always remind him our days in elementary school.

When I see you
I see kindness and warmth
I see fun and excitement
I see positive energy

When I see you
I see a journey that you went through
I see a present time that is rough
I see a future that can be bright

When I see you
I see wonder
I see questions
I see a need for answers

When I see you
I see intelligence
I see a secret that should be out
I see a person who can do better

When I see you
I want to hug you
I want to Cherish you
I want to help you

When I see you
I want to be with you
I want to make sure you go toward the right path
I want to strive goals toward you

When I see you
I want to see the person I once knew
I want to see the great person I know you are
I want to see you and you only

Please help me show others who you really are

"I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca / Classwork

The emotion that "I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca expresses is love and that all you need in a relationship is love and each other. For example, in the story he tells her that all he can offer is a pot full of yellow corn. This shows that a person that loves you will only give you what you need and that will satisfy you. In addition, the man has true feelings for this women and will offer all that he has to keep her.… This shows that love is peace and romantic but not a fantasy. That's why the emotion of this poem was strong to him and was written to her.

Remember Reflection

Today Heather and I had presented our poem to the class. There were some students who where very disruptive and rude while others were on top of it. I know that we did okay but we did try. I was upset that some student were being disrespecting. I don't understand why when other classmates had presented there poems the class was paying attention and when it came to Heather and I the class was just in a bad mood and complaining. When other classmates presented we were not rude about it we payed attention and followed there directions. We did not disrupt them from teaching we sat there and listened. I would have wanted that to be brought back to us instead of it back firing. I thought that acting that way was middle school behavior and I expected better from them. Overall I thank those students who turned in there class work which was only about 7 to 8 of you. I give you guys big round of applause. To those who did not do there assignment I hope you guys have the change in heart and at least give Heather a round of applause and apologize to her. As for me you don't have to say or do anything I can forgive and forget because that was the past and I want to look toward the future. Thank you class for doing what you needed to do or to some others doing what you wanted to do.

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem

The poet who wrote this poem is Mary O. Fumento. The reason why people should read this poem is because it it well written and it is vivid. It is also well descriptive. In the poem it describes "batching colors exploded" and to me that is pretty cool because that means that all his emotions were too cramped and just gave out. The only reason why people would not read my poem is if they do not understand what it means, but then they can at least make an effort to try. Another reason is if people are just not that into poetry because if you don't like then you will not read it. The best part in the poem is how he just puts all his emotions into words and make it so clear to understand.

Publication "Heart! We will forget him!" Paragraph

In the poem "Heart! We will forget him!" the speaker in the poem speaks directly to her heart as if it were another person, a possible reason she talks to her heart separately could be because her heart is connected to her and her heart knows her better.Maybe she could have been hurt by a guy that she liked a lot or a guy that had passed. There can be a family or friend that she could have lost. Personification is when something is not real but people can make it real. It can help her cope by her heart being her closest friend or something that is with in her that she knows that she can trust. On way that I could relate to this poem is that I am a teen and I have liked people in the past and have been hurt by them which left me heart broken. It was either that they lied, cheated, or stole from me.

Imagery in a Selected Poem Paragraph

The poem "The Sorcerer" by Mary O. Fumento made me feel like I was in the poem. It was well descriptive and vivid. In th epoem it said " A world of black and white."It shows that the world had lost it's color and was very plain. It has created a boring and sad mood to it.Another example is "Batches of colors exploid."How all his emotions was too full and exploided after a certain point. It felt anger and unhapiness in his poem.Another example of imagery was "Metals fold like liquid."It sends out flexibility and stress that takes place at a certain point. It has stress and boardom and a crazy life.It shows different types of things that can show you how people express there emotions.

Homework "Same Song" by Pat Mora

When I was in High School I felt like I needed a new look because I look to much of a tomboy. Well in other peoples words I looked like a guy but with a feature of a girls face. People kept on telling me that I needed my feminim side just to show that I can look like a girl too. I was always wearing basketbal shorts and a tank top. Sometimes I would wear lose pants with a some what lose shirt but my clothes had to look nice and match in color. In my oppinion I was just tired of people telling me to change. They said that I looked niuce but needed to begin to show that I looked like a girl. So, that is when I finallt listened and the next day I went to school people were shocked that I actualy pool off the girl look but it did feel weird. I just had to try to ajust to it because it is new.No, but when I did change people were just looking at me. I felt awkward. When I changed the way I looked I put on make-up and I did different hair styles that made my hair look nice. I also put tight jeans that were no to tight but fit perfect. They were not too tight or too lose. I also began to wear jewelery. I also began to wear brighter colors but not too much. I got nice shirts that suited my skin color. When I made the change I thought that it felt good and I was happy but I had to cut down on some of the girly things I thought it was to much. Some things I kept and some I got rid of. To me being a girl is alot of work. It feel slike a full time job that will never end.

My Wordle

Imagery in a Song

There's 104 days of summer vacation
And school comes along just to end it
So the annual problem for our generation
Is finding a good way to spend it

Like...
Building a rocket
Or fighting a mummy
Or climbing up the Eiffel Tower

Discovering something that doesn't exist (Hey! )
Or giving a monkey a shower

Surfing tidal waves
Creating nanobots
Or locating Frankenstein's brain (It's over here! )

Finding a dodo bird
Painting a continent
Or driving your sister insane (Phineas! )

As you can see
There's a whole lot of stuff to do
Before school starts this fall (Come on Perry)

So stick with us 'cause Phineas and Ferb
Are gonna do it all
So stick with us 'cause Phineas and Ferb are
Gonna do it all!
(Mom! Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence! )

Fighting a mummy is meaningful to me because I can see myself myself fighting a mummy. Giving a monkey a shower is meaningful to me beacouse then i can smell the monkey and it would probably smell horrible. Surfing tidal waves is meaningful to me because then I can see the waves over me and then crash. When I hear this song I feel like I want to sing along.

“A Storm in the Mountains” One with Nature

It was during the summer when I was so tensed and felt like I needed to think. I told my self that I need some space to for a while. So I went up a hill and there I found a tree that had a view of Ramona. I sat there for hours and it was so quit that all I could hear was the wind that brushed against the trees leaves. I felt like I was the wind that was flying into a land of peace. I was able to smell the fresh grass and feel the rough bark that was on the tree. After hours of thinking I felt cleansed and peaceful. I felt like a new person that was created. It changed me by showing me that life is not all bad as we all think it is.
