"Grape Sherbet" Blog post 2011
A way I can relate to this poem is because when my father past away he told me something that was important. When he first told me I did not understand he just looked at me in a smile. In the poem the recipe's a secret and he fights a smile. Or when the poet writes, "I've been trying to remember the taste, but it doesn't exist. Now I see why you bothered father. The reason why I relate to this poem is because my father did the same thing to me but in a different case. I did not understand until month's later. Some of the phases that help me imagine this poem are 'memorial", "Lavender taste", "diabetic grandmother stares from the porch", and "we thought no one was lying there under our feet, we thought it was a joke." A imagery that helps the reader is the masterpiece because it has a nice detail explaining what it looks like.
