“American History” Experience with Discrimination

When I was about eleven years old and was in art class. I wanted to sit at a table and three girls said I couldn't because I was not like them. So I just sat down anyway and they got up and moved to sit somewhere else. The table ended up to be the trouble maker table where we all just talked and did art. At first I felt bad because I had never had someone act that way towards me. I was not the popular girl but I was the tomboy of the class. When I sat down and did not listen to what they said I felt like I stepped up for myself. Then when other students came to sit down I felt better because we were all different. It was a great turn out.
