"Kennedy Nonfiction" Content Paragraph

I was in class and my teacher was telling us about a story named "American History." So I went to go get the book, opened to the page and began reading. While I was reading I had no idea that at the time of Kennedy's Presidency there was a lot of racism. He did not like that and was working on fixing the issue. There was a lot of discrimination and bullying going on against immigrants. People made fun of immigrants because of there skin color. Students could not attend in Honor Classes because they were Puerto Rican. The other one was that they had to live in an ugly apartment called "El Building." Understanding History can help me understand nonfiction stories because not only am I just reading I am also learning at the same time. Learning something new is great especially when you have not been taught about it.
